Chocolate truffles. They’re never not delicious, no matter what flavors you decide to put into them, and that’s why they make perfect DIY holiday gifts!
In addition to everyone loving them, they’re super cheap to make in bulk, so you can gift these to multiple people and not break the bank.
All you’ll need to make the basic truffle is some good quality chocolate (dark, milk, or white all work, just make sure it’s of the best quality you can afford,) and some good heavy cream.
From there, you’ll want some toppings: cocoa powder, powdered sugar, crushed nuts, peppermint, melted or crushed chocolate. You also may want some flavor enhancers.
These include flavored liqueur (orange, hazelnut, etc.), caramel, and other things you think could make it better.
Putting the truffles together is pretty easy: heat your cream, add some flavor enhancers to that cream, and chop your chocolate. Add your heated cream to a bowl, followed by your chopped chocolate, and let it sit.
Don’t stir quite yet, but once you do, pour it into a dish, and let it set in the fridge for 30 minutes. After, take it out, and scoop it into balls. Roll it into your toppings, and you’re done!
