For The Love Of Pecan Pie

If there was one thing I could eat all day, everyday, it would be pie. Among those pies, I’d choose pecan. Regular pecan pie is delicious on its own, but I found a way to make it even better.

Alcohol. That’s right, just add some booze to your pecan pie recipe to make it even more delicious. I’ve seen a few different versions of this recipe, but my favorite alcohol to add is Fireball whisky.

The cinnamon flavor pairs really well with the pecan pie, giving it a spicy kick that I had never tasted before. If Fireball isn’t your thing, bourbon also makes a great addition.

Regardless of your booze of choice, this recipe is going to knock your socks off, so let’s get started on making it!

To make the pie, you’ll need:

  • pie crust (you can buy a pre made crust or make your favorite recipe)
  • halved pecans
  • eggs
  • dark brown sugar
  • light brown sugar
  • melted unsalted butter
  • light corn syrup
  • kosher salt
  • grated lemon zest
  • Fireball whisky, bourbon, or any other kind of dark alcohol of your choice

How To Cook It

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Prepare your pecan pie exactly how you normally would: first, cook up your crust. You can use pie weights or dried beans to keep it flat in the middle.

From here, create your filling by toasting your pecans and whipping up the rest of the recipe as shown below. Pour it in the baked crust and bake the pie like they do in the video.

Let it cool, add whipped cream, and you’re ready to eat!

Enjoy!
