When the weather starts to get cold, there’s nothing I love more than snuggling under a big blanket in my PJs, watching TV or reading a book, and drinking a mug full of hot chocolate.

That is, until I made a hot chocolate and put alcohol in it. Fireball, to be specific.

Hot chocolate with cinnamon is already a delicious cold weather treat, but when you replace the cinnamon with a cinnamon flavored whisky, it’s on a whole new level of delicious.

Here’s how to make it. You’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, either chunks or chips
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 oz. Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows (for garnish)
  • Cinnamon (for garnish)

Pour milk and half and half in a saucepan and bring to a light simmer. Add the nutmeg, then stir. When it’s hot and the chocolate chips are melted, turn off the heat, then add 1 oz. of Fireball and stir.

Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream and cinnamon. If you prefer marshmallows in yours, soak them in some fireball first for an extra boozy kick.

How do you like to make your hot chocolate?
