Diamond Pavers

This quilt from Missouri Star Quilt Company is one of the most unique I’ve ever seen. It’s called a “diamond pavers” quilt, and it’s stunning.

It’s different than any other block I’ve seen in the past. Jenny Doan from Missouri Star creates this quilt in one of her video tutorials, and it couldn’t be any easier.

If you want to make your own quilt, you’ll first need to grab your supplies. This is what you will need to get started:

Once you’ve grabbed all of your supplies, you can start building the quilt. It’s surprisingly super easy to do. Each block is only two colors of fabric and super simple to stitch.

To make the block, Jenny first lays out a 10″ square of printed fabric. Then, she grabs a strip of background fabric, either light or dark, and lay it as an angle on the square.

Then sew it on right sides together, pressing it open afterwards and trimming the excess, almost as if you’re sewing a half square triangle. Repeat this on all 4 sides, creating a diamond in the middle.

You’ll continue sewing these with multiple different colors of fabric and either the light or dark background fabric. Now on to building the quilt top: alternate light and dark background fabric while building.

Once everything is laid out, sew it up and add any borders you’d like. Then your quilt top is done! Add some batting and some backing fabric, any free motion, and you’re done with the quilt!

Watch Jenny sew it up in the video below, then make your own. Good luck and happy quilting!
