An easy quilt is always my favorite sort of project to do. Sure, complicated patterns give you satisfaction, but not nearly as quickly as a beginner’s quilt does!
This is one of the easiest quilts you can make, and Jenny from Missouri Star Quilt Company shows you how to do it in the quickest amount of time possible.
What you’re gonna need to make this quilt is:
- 1 roll of 2.5″ strips
- 1 3/4 yards background fabric
- 1 3/4 yards outer border fabric
- 5 1/4 yards backing
First you’re going to cut your background fabric into 5″ squares. Then, sew together two of the 2.5″ strips vertically with a 1/4″ seam allowance. Pair up the strips and continue to do this.
Cut some of the strips at 5″ to match up with the squares of background fabric. Sew the strips and the squares together with a 1/4″ seam.
Measure the unit you just created and cut another strip to match that length. Sew that to the other two with a 1/4″ seam.
Then that’s your block! Sew them together, create your borders and backing according to Jenny’s tutorial below, and give it a try yourself!
Happy quilting!
