Over the years, I’ve found a ton of different ways to use quilt blocks. Besides just a quilt, you can make placemats, hot pads, and wall hangings. Even I never thought of this use, though.

Turning a quilting block into an awesome custom mousepad!

Seriously! A quilt block makes an awesome mousepad, so if you know a computer lover, this makes a great gift for them!

The block can be anything you want it to be, making it even more custom: make a themed block in honor of a movie, TV show, movie, song, name, and more!

Depending on what you decide to make your block into, you’ll need as many or as few fabrics as you’d like. This tutorial by Lorena’s Quilting uses just a few.

In addition to your fabrics, you may want to invest in a non-slip pad so the mousepad doesn’t move around. Once you’re done with the block, you can adhere the pad on the back, and you’re done!

Whether you’re making this mousepad for yourself or as a gift for someone else, it’s a simple project that won’t take you a long time to do. That, and it’s super cute!

Watch the video by Lorena’s Quilting below to get the low-down on how to make this. You’ll be making a ton of them once you try it, trust me!
