One of the number one salads around the Texas Hill Country, is a marinated cucumber, tomato, and onion salad. This is one of the most flavorful salads I have ever eaten and it is a staple at many Texas picnics and family gatherings. When I found this wonderful marinated summer sale video recipe tutorial by Whippoowill Holler on YouTube, I was in love with this version of my favorite salad. Whippoorwill Holler stores her salad in a big mason jar, where it stays fresh in the fridge for quite a long time. The mason jar storage also makes the salad perfect for transport. You can grab your jar of salad and take it to the pool or the lake and it will be fresh and delicious.
