If you like sewing as much as I do, then you’ll jump at the opportunity to sew up your own placemats. You can turn your table into the table of your dreams once you have these!

Once again, I turned to Donna Jordan from Jordan Fabrics. She never does me wrong, and I knew that finding placemats from her would be the perfect project.

Luckily for me, Donna came forward with an amazing free pattern, and I stitched up my own personalized placemats in no time– especially since Donna uploaded a step-by-step video tutorial, too!

So without further adieu, let’s get started on making these bad boys, shall we?

First thing’s first, if you want to follow the written pattern, you need to download the free pattern. You can do that by clicking here.

Now you’ll need to grab your supplies. You’ll need 80 charm squares. 1/4 yard of a dark and 1/4 yard of a light fabrics for accents are optional. You’ll also need 1 yard of of backing fabric, and 4 pieces of 18 x 22 batting.

This list of supplies will make 4 placemats. Finally, you’ll want to follow along with the video tutorial, which is at the bottom of this post. Let’s go into depth and start creating these babies.

Depending on whether you use yardage or charm squares for accents, you’ll cut your measurements according to the pattern. Now, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the under side of the accents.

Place an accent square on the corner of a 5” charm and align the raw edges. Stitch along the drawn line. Repeat with all accent squares and charm squares.

For the rest of the steps, read the pattern and watch the video below. You’re gonna love making these!
