Baby Blocks Make A Huge Impact

There aren’t many quilts I’ve seen as adorable and intricate as this baby blocks quilt. A ton of tiny little squares compiled together in a star-like structure.

Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company is back at it again with an easy to do baby blocks quilt that truly is a work of art.

Easy As 1, 2, 3…

It may take a bit of time to put this quilt together, but it’s a project you’ll definitely love making. It’s really straightforward to make, though, so you won’t have any trouble stitching this up.

It all starts with a simple 16 patch. Take tiny squares in multiple colors, all the same size, and stitch them together into a square: 4 squares across and 4 squares down. Simple enough, right?

Now you’re going to double that. Add another 16 patch and you’ll have one that measures 8 across and 8 down.

Add One Final Touch

Once you’ve finished that basic block, it’s time to stitch up the star around it. Luckily, that’s just as easy. Each side is simply a big triangle, surrounded by two smaller ones!

It really is just as simple as it looks from there. Just stitch everything together, add some borders, and your quilt top is completely done.

Add the batting, your backing fabric, and any quilting stitches you’d like to accentuate the design, and the quilt is done! Watch Jenny Doan’s video below for more tips and tricks.
