Mason jars are a rustic decor staple. Whether you fill them with candles, flowers, or something else, I see them in every farmhouse.

Instead of a traditional mason jar, there are other decor options that give the same rustic quaintness. Case in point: this mason jar string art with flowers. Too cute, right?

HGTV Handmade created a video tutorial for it, and it couldn’t have been any easier to do. Wanna create one yourself?

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

  • printout of a mason jar
  • marker
  • piece of wood
  • nails
  • hammer
  • string
  • fake flowers

Now let’s get started making it, shall we?

How It’s Done

First, take an outline of a mason jar and cut it out, leaving a small border around it. Use a marker to mark dots around the outline. This is where your nails will go.

Now, place it on your piece of wood. Make sure the mason jar image is markedly smaller than the piece of wood you’re using. Tape it down to keep it in place.

Hammer in your nails where the dots were drawn, making sure not to nail them in all the way. Tear off the paper, then wrap your string around the nails to mimic a mason jar.

Cover the nails on the backside with thick tape or another protectant to avoid scratching yourself with the nail’s sharp side. Finally, place your fake flowers into the “openings” at the top of the jar.

Then that’s it… you’re done and ready to place this wherever you need a little more rustic style!

What kind of flowers are you going to put in yours?
