Dr. Pepper, everyone’s favorite soda, makes an amazing braise for pulled pork. Your sandwich is about to get a whole lot better, and here’s how.

Cook It Up

First, grab your slow cooker. Then, you’ll want to gather some simple ingredients to get this pork cookin’. According to Garden Fork‘s recipe, You will need:

  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • chopped garlic, 2-3 cloves
  • hot sauce, to taste, or any other spice, like chipotle pepper
  • liquid smoke, a tablespoon or 2

How It’s Done

Season up your pork however you like, then add it to your slow cooker with the Dr. Pepper and any additional ingredients.

Close the lid and cook it on low for 5 hours, or until the Dr. Pepper mixture becomes a thick, syrupy sauce and the pork is cooked through and tender.
