I don’t know about you, but throwing away Krispy Kreme is heartbreaking for me. I don’t want to waste those delicious donuts, but what else am I supposed to do with them once they go stale?

How about make some bread pudding out of them?

That’s right, you can take stale Krispy Kreme donuts and make them into another delicious dessert. Here’s how.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 8 stale original glazed donuts, cubed (if you’d like the pudding to be more bready, you can add a couple more donuts)
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar (you can easily cut down on this and it’ll still be delicious)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 tsp of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/4 cup softened butter

In addition to this, I added cinnamon and nutmeg to both the bread pudding batter and the topping. I think it adds a little something extra.

To make this, place the cubed donuts in a greased dish. Beat the eggs in separate bowl and add the sugar, milk, and vanilla (in my case, I added the cinnamon and nutmeg too).

Pour the mixture over the donuts and let them sit for at least 10 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine the softened butter, pecans, and brown sugar, as well as whatever else you want on the topping.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 45 minutes. Then make the caramel sauce.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup bourbon

Add all ingredients except the bourbon and put it in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar melts. Then stir in the bourbon. Pour over the bread pudding, cool, and serve!

After making this, you’ll almost want to let your donuts go stale. It’s really that good, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
