How To Make It
Now that you’ve downloaded the pattern, let’s get started in making this beauty! The entire quilt consists of multiple large stars along with a large diamond pattern radiating from the center.
To accomplish this, you’ll make a TON of small half square triangles with all sorts of different fabrics. It’s all in the placement of your background fabric that creates the distinct pattern Donna ends up with.
If you look at the smallest blocks, they are indeed half square triangles. The larger “blocks” that result from it are a diamond surrounded by small triangles of background fabric, a Chevron, and a striped, haphazard sort of block that bridges the two.
To figure out exactly how this quilt is arranged, you can go over the written pattern here, while watching the tutorial below. Your quilt top will be done super quickly!
Add a border, some batting, and some backing fabric. Add any free motion fabric you’d like, and you’re all done with the quilt. You’ll want to look at this finished product all the time. It’s that pretty!
Want to make this yourself? I don’t blame you. Watch the video below and download the pattern here, then get to quilting!
