Reindeer are so iconic at Christmas time and there are so many fun, easy and cheap DIY reindeer ideas on Youtube. I found the greatest little cork reindeer DIY craft on Youtube yesterday, I couldn’t wait to use up some old corks I had been saving for projects, I couldn’t wait to get the kids around the family craft table and make these cute little reindeer. I first started by assembling my materials at the center of the craft table. I just needed some one half inch ribbon, some thin string ribbon, some toothpicks, some corks, some pipe cleaners (in brown), some decorative (red, green, and white) pom poms, and of course a hot glue gun.

I used six corks for each reindeer and started by taking four that were pretty much the same height and diameter. Then I glued those together with the hot glue gun, this will be the legs (the base) of the reindeer. Then I took the fifth cork and glued it to the top and this will serve as the reindeer’s neck.

Then I cut a cork in half and made a cute little nose for the reindeer. Then I got my pipe cleaners and cut 4 three-inch to three and one half inch pieces. taking two at a time ai made an x shape, (not to even because the antlers should be a bit uneven) and made a set of antlers for my reindeer. I made two little holes at the top of the cork head and added the antlers, with a little glue for extra security.

Then I just decorated my reindeer with the pom-poms and he was so cute! Now Mom had made one and it was time for the children to start their busywork like Santa’s Elves.
