Ever heard of felt gnomes? We just learned how to make felt gnome the other day, and I am going to have an entire family of these adorable gnomes for Valentine’s Day! They are so much fun to make, easy to do and they all turn out differently but super cute, this Valentine’s Day Felt Gnome DIY uses merino for his hair and the results are incredible!
My children and I get very bored over the holidays and things can easily go haywire at a moment’s notice, so to keep everyone on track, I keep boxes of projects that I can pull out and put in the middle of the table and seat them quietly all round to focus their attention on their own creative spirit. I keep a few boxes of different felts for projects on hand and one of my favorites is the DIY Felt Gnome. This is such a cute, fun project, everyone from old to young love it. You get started by simply getting y materials together:
Materials:
- Wool
- Craft Fur
- Yarn
- A Pre Made Cone (paper mache from Michaels work)
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
Wrap felt around your cone
Then you just braid your Merino Wool to make side braids for the girl gnome
Then you make a cute pointed hat for your gnome
Then you cut out a heart from your felt and glue it on the front of your gnome with your trusty hot glue gun
These Valentines Day Felt Gnomes are so cute! This is a great project for any age.
