Recycling is a big thing in our home and when I find a DIY utilizing all those discarded bottles I start jumping for joy. This DIY Water Bottle Flower Vase project is one such project that literally had me over the Moon before I even began. I saw the Water Bottle Flower Vase on Youtube and could not wait to get started because I already had some flowers I had bought on sale at Michael’s Craft Store from last year and I had a bin of old plastic water bottles so I was looking at my favorite kind of project, a no trip to the craft store, no cash outlay project! I started by rounding up all my water bottles, about 40 in all, then I peeled off all the labels. I had plenty of craft paint so I was ready to go.
First cut the top off your water bottle and cover it with masking tape
Then you glue on Cardboard arcs
Then cover in wetted cheesecloth
Then cover in Plaster Of Paris or Cement
Then paint and decorate as you choose
These vases are so gorgeous on completion, my entire bridge club went crazy over them and next Tuesday night when we are supposed to be having our traditional game night, we are going to have a craft night instead as a trial thing. If it goes well we will have one craft night the 2nd Tuesday of every month. This is the first project the girls want to make, everyone loves it!
