Working with clay is something I have loved since I was a child, it was also something I had completely forgotten about until I found this excellent DIY Polymer Clay Leaf Bowl tutorial on Youtube. From the first minute, I saw these bowls they brought back so many fond memories of my clay making of yesteryear, I ran straight to Michael’s Craft Store to get some clay so I could make this dream happen.

First, roll out your block of clay
Press your polymer clay onto/ into your bowl, spearing then working out any air bubbles may you see
Then go to your garden and fetch some leaves with nice veining and press them into the clay
Press in the texture of your choice, this is a piece of craft paper that was used in this project, but as always in the world of DIY there is no right or wrong way to do any of this, the sky is the limit!
Drop some alcohol ink on a pallet surface and spray with a bit more 99% alcohol and then paint your clay in the color of your choice
These bowls turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined they would and the memories of my childhood the nuances of the project brought back were absolutely priceless. I loved this project so much!
