Keep Those Plastic Bags Without The Mess

Do you save your plastic shopping bags to use as trash can liners, lunch bags, and more? My family always has, and I think it’s a great way to recycle.

Unfortunately, the more you collect these, the more they can overrun your house. Bags, everywhere, filling your cabinets and causing more mess than they’re worth… unless you have this!

It’s a bag that holds all of the bags conveniently, allowing you to grab one at a time, mess-free. Almost like a tissue box!

I found a tutorial by eHowArtsAndCrafts on how to get this done perfectly, and it couldn’t be any easier to make. So if you don’t want that mess anymore, let’s get started. Here’s what you’re gonna need.

To sew up this simple project, you will need:

  • a piece of fabric 15-20″ wide and 20-25″ long.
  • thread
  • elastic
  • scissors
  • sewing machine

Now Let’s Get Started!

You’ll begin by forming a casing for your elastic. This involves folding over the fabric on the end, ironing it, folding it over again, then sewing it into place.

Cut the elastic pieces about 7″ long and 10″ long for the top and bottom, respectively. Insert the elastics, then it’s time to sew the side seams.
