Snowmen are a must at Christmas time for me, I have always loved the iconic image of a snowman every since I was a child. You cannot see a snowman and not be in the mood for Christmas. I recently saw this video on youtube for a DIY Snowman made completely from Mason Jar outer lid rings. I had so many I have made so many Mason Jar Crafts, I just can’t get enough of them. I always keep a couple of cases on hand in the craft room in case I have children visiting or I find a new Mason Jar idea I haven’t done yet. This Mason Jar Lid Ornament tutorial I found on Youtube was really great for me because I have made so many projects involving just the jar, it has left me with a box full of lone lids. The other best thing about this project is the fact I get to make a snowman, YAY! I first started by going to Walmart and buying two packs of Mason Jar lids, you will only be using the band part, save the discs for another project.
Then I found these Snowman Heads that light up from Dollar General for Three Dollars! They are so cute, but if you can’t find one, you can easily make your own out of a styrofoam ball and felt.
Then you just fasten the rings together with a pipe cleaner, white looks best. You make two tiers of these, one large and one small.
You then spray paint both of them white, then all you have to do is get out your trusty glue gun and stick the two tiers together, put the head on top and decorate with bows. I love these snowmen, this is a great project!
