I keep a 5-pound bag of Epsom Salts at all times, I love to soak in the Epsom, but did you know Epsom Salts can be perfect for a DIY? Epsom Salts actually make the best looking snow and it is not harmful to small children or pets like many synthetic fake snow varieties can be. I saw this Mason Jar DIY while browsing Youtube yesterday and I knew I had to make it. I had plenty od Mason Jars and 5 pounds of Epsom Salts, so nothing standing in my way to make a bunch of these to illuminate my front porch this Christmas Season. I first put some Epsom Salts on a tray and painted my Mason Jars with glue, you can use decoupage Modpodge, spray adhesive, Gorilla Glue, rubber cement, Fabri-Tac, etc. I just used Elmer’s and it worked fine. Then I rolled my glue covered Mason Jar in the Epsom Salt till it was completely covered in the faux snow look.

Then I just cut a lower scrubby branch off the interior bottom of the Christmas Tree and used the small cuttings for decorations on my DIY Epsom Salts Mason Jar Lamp. I tied some rustic farmhouse decorative twine around the top and also added some faux cranberries to give it a real Country Christmas look.

When I finished all six jars, I added a small 20 light string to all the jars, I plugged those all together at the back and displayed them going up the six steps on my porch. I cannot even describe how gorgeous, simple, and cheap this project was, it made me very happy.
