Flower pots can be pricy overtime, but there are many ways to create your own flower pot. In this YouTube tutorial by DIY Garden Ideas, he teaches step-by-step to make a flower pot using plastic bottles. He has numerous videos on his YouTube channel where he repurposes plastic bottles into creative ways in the garden. I love how creative he is, and very detailed in his videos. Some of the projects he has done amaze me because it does take some quality time and effort to make. Plus, I think having this in the back yard or anywhere in your garden would be impressive. I think if I made this, I would get compliments on how I made it.

Materials:

  • a lot of plastic bottles
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • super glue
  • metal/aluminum wires
  • pliers
  • spray paint
  • rubber band
  • marker
  • nail
  • utility knife
  • cardboard poster

Directions:

First, remove the sticker off of the plastic bottles. Then, take a metal or aluminum wire and shape it into a circle. Take the plastic bottles and attach them onto the rod using a smaller wire to hold them down into place. Continue to do this until it’s filled up all around.

Next, put superglue between the plastic bottles to ensure they are stuck together. Stack and layer them on top of each other using superglue until you get the shape and height you want. After, spray paint these bottles with the color you prefer.

In conclusion, this is a great way to repurpose old plastic bottles into something that is useful in the garden. My parents go through packs of bottled water every week, so if you do, I think this would be a fun way to start on a project.
