Nothing gets your family more into the Christmas spirit than a homey fireplace decorated with luminaries and stockings during the holiday season, but what if you don’t have a fireplace? There’s no reason to miss out on this Yule Tide tradition and Santa needs his portal to come down and deliver presents, so hold onto your hats because we are going to make a DIY Faux Fireplace out of ordinary cardboard, only needing a few supplies you probably already have lurking around your craft room. I started this project by using a TV Box that my new Samsung TV came in. I first measured out the spot where I wanted my fireplace, right next to the tree of course. Then I cut my Samsung TV box laid out it out flat, then cut the rough edges off with an Exacto Knife and started taping it to the wall. The TV came with a little foam and cardboard pedestal that worked perfectly as a base for my faux fireplace.
Then I did a rough sketch of how I wanted my fireplace to look and took the cardboard back down and cut it out with an Exacto knife and then cut a few attachable rectangles for swinging doors.
Then I constructed a box shape using a lot of other boxes for internal support of the fireplace. You will need a lot of hot glue sticks, I promise you that, lol.
Then I spray painted the whole thing black and cut brick shapes out of card stock and glued the card bricks all over my faux fireplace.
This DIY Faux Fireplace was looked better than anything I could possibly imagine, what a great project!
