I love to sew and I also love going to yard sales and when I find buttons and sewing odds and ends I have to get them regardless of whether I need them or not. There is always a need in my mind, many of those just haven’t materialized yet. I went to a sale in my neighborhood last weekend and hit the Mother Load of all button collections, I snapped them up of course and decided to make an intense effort to use these new button treasures in some decorative DIY Craft projects for my Christmas Home Decor. I went searching on Youtube and found this gorgeous DIY Christmas Tree Button Wall Art and knew I had struck gold. Not only could I make several for my home, but I could also give some to my friends and relatives for Christmas gifts. I had plenty of blank canvases I had bought on sale at Michael’s Craft Store when Michael’s has a sale I buy in bulk because I always get a tremendous deal on everything. I got started by drawing a triangle on my canvas lightly in pencil using a ruler (a piece of cardboard will work fine). Then I started adding a dot glue to the back f each button and gluing them down on the shape of the tree.
I added dimension to my beautiful DIY Button Wall Art Christmas Tree by stacking and gluing more buttons to the top of the first buttons, giving it a slightly 3D raised look. Then I added the star to the very top of my DIY Tree Craft and I was done!
I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did! Its also great fun for the kids.
