I remember my childhood calendars with such fondness, I really wanted to instill that love in my children, so when I found this DIY Advent Calendar on Youtube I was overjoyed. How perfect to be able to make even more wonderful holiday memories with my children by delving into the world of arts and crafts. The world of arts and DIY Christmas Crafts is a world of wonderment and excitement and I was so happy to be able to share this with them. We started by assembling twenty-five gift boxes in a circle.

I then cut a piece of cardboard the exact size of my wreath and covered it in silver wrapping paper the same size as my box arrangement for my DIY Advent Calendar Wreath Craft. I stuck the silver wrapping down with double-sided tape, but you could also use glue, it really wouldn’t make any difference. To wrap the round wreath backing I cut small slits in the paper all around the outside periphery and all around the inside of the wreath circle and folded each bit over and taped with my Scotch Double-Sided Gift Tape

Then I used my trusty hot glue gun to attach all the small gift boxes in a circle. Then I reinforced them by going along the back of the outside circle and adding more hot glue to the edge of each box. Then I grabbed my Christmas Cardstock Paper and cut squares a little smaller than my gift boxes and glued them on in an alternating pattern.

Then I just added some stick-on numbers from Michael’s Craft Store and put small gifts in the calendar for each child. You can also put notes inside to explain where the gifts are hidden in the house for a fun twist. I hope you love this project as much as we did.
