Diamonds Are A Quilter’s Best Friends

The diamonds squared quilt: it’s basically a classic in my book. It’s stunningly beautiful and super easy to make.

This simple quilt is done in a flash, yet it has a ton of detail. The cornerstones, the fan-like design made from each finished block. the diamond in the center… what’s not to love?

Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company is back at it again with this incredible quilt tutorial. You get a great sized quilt out of this, and it couldn’t be any more fun to make, so let’s get started!

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

Time To Get Sewin’

All you’ll be doing is a basic snowball technique on the ends of a strip of fabric. Make sure that the strip is on a slant when you finish, and there’s one part of your block!

Stitch 3 of those together, and and that’s one quarter of the block. Stitch 4 together with the end pieces facing inward to form a diamond, and there’s your full block!

With some sashing, some cornerstones, a couple of borders, some batting and a bit of backing fabric, and you’re done!
