We’re all guilty of it: we buy more and more fabric, using some of it, and accumulating a ton of scraps along the way. Those scraps pile up, and you don’t know what to do with them.

Until now.

You can use those scraps to decorate your house for the holidays, namely with a snowman wall hanging! All sorts of fabrics can be used to create this super cute hanging, so get your scrap stash ready.

The only real things you’ll need are some pieces of white fabric for the snowman, a little black fabric for the eyes and smile, and some orange fabric, for the carrot nose.

The background fabric is totally up to you!

The snowman is made up up pieces of white fabric cut into hexagons. You’ll want to cut out some black circles for the eyes and mouth, and an orange cone for the nose.

You’ll also want to create a top hat. Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company uses one of her background fabrics to do this, but you can do whatever you’d like.

Add some batting, a backing, and any border along with something to hang it up with, and you’re all done!

Watch Jenny’s tutorial below to get a feel for it, then whip out those scraps and you can make one yourself!
