My headphones break all the time. I’ve always felt like it’s inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be. There’s a way to keep them strong and stylish at the same time, and it’s super cheap.
Instead of buying new headphones every time they break, don’t let them break in the first place by embroidering them! It’s easy to do and takes no time at all.
Here’s how you do it:
What you need:
- Headphones
- Tape
- Scissors
- Clear Nail Polish
- Braiding Cord, Embroidery Floss, Yarn, or String
How To:
Tape headphones to a table or work surface.
Measure out your string to be 4 or 5 times the length of your headphones. Take your string and tie a double knot around the top of your cord, with the string gathered in the middle.
Take the right cord and place it under the headphones and over your left cord, forming a triangle. Take your left cord, go over the headphones and under the right cord.
Hold headphones taut and tie a knot. Switch the cords, making the left go right and the right left, then continue the triangle pattern.
Cut off your frayed ends without unraveling it, then apply clear nail polish to solidify the knot.
Once that’s dry, you’re done! Perfect headphones that won’t break on you, and look super cool.
