I feel like every quilter I know throws away their scraps if they’re smaller than a certain size. I always wanted to use them, but couldn’t find a way for a long time.

If you’re anything like me, you just hate to throw away fabric scraps.  I finally found this quilt tutorial and was glad I hung onto them. I didn’t have to buy any fabric to recreate this little number.

Most people throw away their scraps, but that doesn’t mean you have to be like most people. In fact, you can create an incredible piece of art out of them.

This unique project is called a “crumb quilt” because of the materials used to make it. I really think people should do this more often. The idea may seem cheap, but the result looks so expensive.

Just take your scraps and sew them together, creating blocks in the process. There doesn’t have to be any pattern to these, just sew things together until you get something you like.

Megan, the girl who shared her quilt in the video below, sashes the blocks in white, adds batting and a backing, then she’s done. Really, that’s it!

So not only is this a way to use scraps you would’ve otherwise thrown away, it’s one of the easiest quilts you can ever make! Just throw it together and it’s done.

Even a novice can do this quilt. It does take some patience because of how many pieces of fabric are involved, but the end result is totally worth it. It’s just gorgeous!

If you decide to give this quilt a try, show it off in the comment section. I’d love to see how yours turns out!
