When it comes to quilting, there’s nothing I love more than a quick and easy project. It gets you results fast, and a finished product you can be proud of.

This easy woven quilt by Laura at SewVeryEasy looks incredibly complicated, but it’s beyond simple. I couldn’t believe it!

In order to make this simple quilt, you will need:

  • bundle of fat quarters (8 or 9 total)
  • 1 yard of a solid fabric
  • fabric for backing
  • fabric for binding

Out of 4 fat quarters, cut units that are 10″ x 2″. You will need 9 of these each. Out of the other 4 fat quarters, cut units that are 10″ x 2.5″. Again, you’ll need 9 of these each.

You’ll also need 36 long pieces of the solid fabric at 10″ x 3.5″, and out of another fat quarter, 9 squares at 3.5″ total.

Making the units is super easy. Just sew together 3 strips: a fat quarter strip on top, a solid strip in the middle, and another fat quarter strip on the bottom of a different color from the first.

As for the entire block, you’ll take 4 of these units with one of the little squares in the center. Have the skinny sides wrap around the squares, and you’re ready to sew it together.

Then that’s it, that’s your block! Just sew these together, add your batting, backing, and binding, and you’re done!
