If you’re a quilter, then you know how difficult stitching up a Chevron Quilt can be. The pattern looks simple enough, but getting the fabrics to look just right? It seems next to impossible!

That is, until now. Laura Coia from SewVeryEasy is at it again and has come up with an incredibly easy way to get the perfect Chevron Quilt.

This method has no Y-seams, no set-in seams, no half square triangles, and no squares at all! I know, it sounds impossible, but Laura found a way!

The trick is to do it in columns and by strip piecing. There are no blocks involved in this process at all, so the process goes by super quickly and the end result is unbelievable.

Find 23 fat quarters that coordinate, and a matching thread. Take your fat quarters and cut 2.5″ strips lengthwise to the end. You should have 8.

Take 5 of them for the Chevron pattern itself. Square off one end and cut off a 7″ piece and a 9″ piece. Do this to all of your fat quarters except one.

Out of the other fat quarter you need to cut three 7″ squares. Cut those in half on the diagonal.

Follow Laura’s tutorial below to get your piecing together. You’re gonna love how this turns out!
