I have so many friends from Louisiana and they love their Crawfish! I had one friend telling me about Crawfish Cornbread the other day and I was very intrigued, so I went searching Youtube to see if someone had made a video on this mythical dish and bingo, I found this fabulous recipe! It sounded so delicious, I immediately started getting my ingredients together.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups Self Rising Cornmeal
- 1 small can Green Chilis
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 can Cream Style Corn
- 1 cup Pepper Jack Cornbread (shredded)
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 pound Cooked Crawfish
In a bowl, mix cornmeal, green chilis, buttermilk, cheese, melted butter, cream-style corn

Cook Crawfish in a skillet with butter
Add Crawfish to the cornbread batter mixture and mix in, then pour batter into a preheated buttered cast iron skillet
Then bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes till done. This cornbread was so delicious I had all my friends from Louisiana over to eat some and they approved!
