Hot, Creamy, And Delicious

Nothing is more comforting on a cold day more than a nice, delicious soup. In my opinion, one soup stands above them all: loaded baked potato

Not only does this stick-to-your-ribs soup satisfy that creamy, salty, savory craving everyone gets, but it’s just so cozy and delicious when the weather isn’t what you want it to be.

You don’t need a ton of ingredients to make this, either, so it makes a quick and easy dinner for those nights when you just don’t feel like cooking.

Sara Lynn from The Domestic Geek whips up this deliciousness in her video tutorial below. Before you get started, gather your ingredients. You will need:

  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced

As for the amount of flour and bacon you’ll need, you’ll need 2 tbsp. flour for every 4 slices of bacon, which yields about 2 tbsp. of bacon fat. You can also use butter or oil if the bacon isn’t your thing.

Sara Lynn also loads her soup up with cheese, sour cream, and green onion. For the exact amounts she uses, read the description box of her video by clicking here. Otherwise, add whatever you’d like!

Cooking up this deliciousness is super easy. You’ll start with a roux: equal parts fat and flour. Melt the fat (bacon fat, butter, oil) in a dutch oven, and once it’s melted, add your flour.

Cook the flour for a few minutes before adding your milk and broth. From here, I’ll let Sara Lynn take over. Watch her video below to learn more.

Enjoy!
