If you’re unlucky (like me,) there isn’t a Cracker Barrel near you. That means you’ve got to get creative and find some copycat recipes for your favorites.

For me, my favorites include the hashbrown casserole, the chicken & dumplings, and the fried apples. After some research, I found the recipe closest to all of these.

Today, I’ll show you how to make the fried apples. The other recipes are linked above. To make the fried apples, you will need the following ingredients.

To make this, you will need:

  • 4 golden delicious apples
  • 2 1/2 cups apple juice
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. apple pie spice

Start by slicing up your apples and removing the cores, stems, and seeds. From here, steam the apples in 2 cups of apple juice until softened. Set these aside.

Combine the sugar, cornstarch, apple pie spice, and 1/2 cup of apple juice. Pour that into the pot and stir and boil until it turns into a thick syrup. Pour it over the apples and you’re ready to serve!

Give these a try and there’s next to no need for Cracker Barrel anymore… they’re really that good.

Enjoy!
