During the summer, there’s always plenty to do. Some days, though, you want to stay home and do something simple. That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.
I came across this awesome little science project and it’ so much fun for anyone! Whether you’re a toddler or in your 80s, you’re gonna like this one. Here’s how to do it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Water
- Corn Starch
- Food Coloring
- Effervescent antacid tablets (sodium bicarbonate)
- Film canister
Mix together water and cornstarch to make a slurry. Add food coloring, then pour into the film canisters, about 3/4 of the way up.
Take the film canisters outside and open them. Drop in your antacid tablet, screw on the lid, flip it upside down and run!
In a few seconds, the canister should pop and fly into the air, leaving a colorful stream in the air as it goes.
I can’t get enough of doing this. I’m going to be popping film canisters all summer!
Are you going to give this a try?
