When you think St. Patrick’s Day, there are a definitely a few things running through your mind: leprechauns, the color green, and beer, just to name a few.
But there’s one thing most people tend to forget about this Irish-inspired holiday: how delicious Irish food is! I’m talking about more than just potatoes.
One of the most iconic Irish recipes is shepherd’s pie. If you’ve never had it before, it’s basically flavorful ground lamb and veggies topped with a layer of mashed potatoes.
I’m drooling just thinking about it, if I’m going to be honest here. A beautiful crust forms from the potatoes, a gorgeous gravy surrounds the lamb, and the veggies give it great color.
Basically, before you go out for St. Patrick’s Day, I would HIGHLY suggest eating some shepherd’s pie first. It’s the perfect pre-party meal!
