Unfortunately, pizza isn’t exactly good for you. All of that cheese, and a bready, carb-filled crust ends up adding up in the calorie department.

But what if there was a way to have all of the deliciousness of pizza with a lot less of the calories involved? There is, and the secret is a cauliflower crust.

Making Pizza Healthier

Believe it or not, the crust is all you need to change to make an enormous difference in how many calories are in pizza. Sure, the cheese and sauce add some, but the carbs of the crust do the most.

So, let’s try making a crust that isn’t as carby– a crust made with cauliflower! Here’s how to do it.

To make it, here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of cauliflower, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese

Making The Pizza

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

First, grate the cauliflower into small pieces, then in a separate bowl, beat together the egg and the parmesan cheese.

In the meantime, sauté the cauliflower a bit in a pan to soften it up a bit. Let it cool, then mix it with the parmesan and the egg. Shape it into a pizza crust, then bake for 20 minutes.

Once it comes out, you can make your pizza however you’d like!

Enjoy!
