Sometimes, putting together a quilt block that you see online looks like it would take forever. The card trick quilt definitely was one of those blocks for me, so I never tried it.

That is, until now. I found a quick tutorial for this block by Missouri Star Quilt Company on YouTube, and it really couldn’t be any easier. Plus it’s super fast!

Now the quilt top that I thought would take me months to make was done in just a couple of weeks. The tutorial is less than a minute long, and it tells you everything you need to know.

All you’ll need is some 2.5″ strips, cut into 2.5″ squares and 2.5″ x 4.5″ pieces. Sew 4 different 2.5″ squares together into one bigger square. Then lay coordinating 2.5″ x 4.5″ strips on each side.

Sew 2.5″ squares of background fabric to the open corners. Then cut a 7″ background square corner to corner. Repeat for 4 triangles. Sew a triangle to all 4 sides of the block you’ve made so far.

Snowball the corners with 2.5″ print squares. Sew corner to corner, trim, press open, and you’re done with your block!

I love how cool this quilt looks when it’s all put together. Check out the video tutorial below for a visual, and give it a try yourself!
