During the summer, cute and girly blouses and dresses are the way to go. Not only are they super stylish, but they’re super cute too, and they’re surprisingly easy to make!
I found this DIY from coolirpa on YouTube, and I adore what she did with this fabric. I’m pretty sure you will too, so if you wanna make your own, here’s how to do just that.
Materials:
- 4 yards of fabric (you may need more or less depending on your size)
- sewing machine, stocked with thread
- pins
- dress form (optional, but it helps quite a bit)
Now that you’ve gathered all of your supplies, it’s time to make your blouse. If you have a dress form that fits your body, begin by draping your fabric over that.
Pin it in place to create the fit you want. Use some fabric chalk to draw on your neckline and more detailing of your choice. Pin everything as you go.
coolirpa on YouTube adds darts to the bust of her top in order to create a flattering shape for her body type. If you want to know how to sew darts, watch this video. It ends up being super helpful!
Then, she adds a cinch in the waist, half-length flowy sleeves, and a scalloped edge. Pretty, right? To get more instruction on how to sew up those details, watch coolirpa’s video below.
You can use whatever fabric you’d like for this, and obviously adjust every detail to fit your personal style and body type. It’s super easy to do. You’ll end up loving your look!
Have fun making this gorgeous, summery blouse and good luck sewing!
