They’ve become pretty popular recently. They’re used in beauty products, for jewelry, decorations, and more. But did you know you could make soap that looks like a crystal?
Yup, it’s true. Just follow the tutorial by Mimi’z World and you’ve got an adorable soap that’s perfect to use or to leave as a decoration.
Want to make it yourself?
Here’s what you’ll need to make the soap:
- clear/transparent glycerin soap base
- soap colorant
- essential oil
- microwavable glass or cup
- knife
- something to stir with
- rubbing alcohol
Make Those Gems
You’ll be making this soap layer by layer in order to create that awesome gem-like effect. Start by melting the clear soap base in the microwave. Add your essential oil.
Pour this layer into another cup or mold. Add more clear soap base to the original cup and microwave that. Add more essential oil and colorant into this one.
Poke the clear soap a bit with something, then pour the colored soap on top. Repeat this process, spraying the soap with rubbing alcohol when you’re done.
Once it dries, take the soap out of the mold and use your knife to cut it up and make it look like gems. You can remelt things to get the look, too. Just wing it!
Whether you use this or leave it for decoration, you’re gonna love it. Nevertheless, have fun making it!
