Spring is here, meaning it’s time for adorable desserts that remind me of spring time. These cookies are as spring as it gets, and they’re super simple.

YouTube channel Bride Society suggests using these as favors at a wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, or another fun daytime party.

Personally, I’m going to make a batch for myself just to celebrate spring. The only problem is I know how delicious they are, but part of me won’t want to eat them. They’re so gorgeous!

If you want to make a batch of these babies yourself, let’s get started by gathering what you’ll need.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make these delicious and adorable cookies:

  • 1 cup (225g) self rising flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) butter
  • 1 egg
  • flavorings such as vanilla extract or lemon juice are optional, 1/2 tsp. should do
  • small, edible flowers (make sure all parts you are using are edible!)

Bake The Cookies

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

First, combine the self rising flour and powdered sugar well, then, with your hands, cut the butter into the flour and sugar like you would a biscuit dough.

Now, beat your egg and add it into your mixture, along with any extracts or flavorings you’d like in the cookie. Mix this together until completely combined into a stiff dough.

Sprinkle a flat surface with flour, then roll out your dough. Use a cookie cutter or whatever you’d like to form uniform cookies. Lay these cookies out on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Add your edible flowers to the center of each cookie. Use a piece of parchment paper to rub the flower into the dough so it stays flat.

Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until cooked all the way through. Let the cookies cool completely, then you can dig in!

Enjoy!
