An easy bear paw quilt is something every quilter needs to have in their collection. It’s such a fun project to make, and the end result is a stunner.

What I love so much about this quilt is how easy it is to switch up. You want it perfect for winter? Use cool tone blues and grays. For spring? Pastels. For summer? Brights. Fall? Warm tones.

Not only is it easy to switch up for any season, it’s so easy to make. Just take it from Missouri Star Quilt Company their video tutorial below is under a minute long!

You’ll need:

  • background fabric
  • one pack of 2.5″ strips (color or print of choice)

How It’s Done

One 2.5″ square of background fabric and one 2.5″ square of the color/print fabric will be placed right sides together, sewn together with a 1/4″ seam on one side. Press open.

Sew a 2.5″ x 4.5″ background strip to the left of the square you just sewed together, with a 1/4″ seam. Snowball opposite corners with 2.5″ print squares. Sew corner to corner, then trim.

Open this up and press. From here, add a 2.5″ x 4.5″ strip to the bottom of this square and sew it on. Add a 2.5″ x 6.5″ strip to the left, and sew this on as well.

Snowball the opposite corners again with 2.5″ print squares. Sew this corner to corner, then trim and press. Then that’s it, your block is done!

Repeat this process as many times as you’d like, and you’ll have a gorgeous quilt you’ll just have to show off!

Happy Quilting!
