Pickle Chicken
Pickles one of the most underrated foods on the planet, and I’m so happy that recently, pickles are getting the attention they rightfully deserve.
Another lesser-known food God is pickle juice. You can use it for a wide array of things, particularly barbecue and fried foods.
How do you use it for BBQ, you ask? Well, let’s begin with some chicken breasts, and use the pickle juice as a brine. The delicious recipe is as follows.
Ingredients for 2 breasts:
- large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- olive oil to coat
- salt and pepper to taste
For the brine:
- brown sugar
- kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- cayenne pepper
- dill pickle juice
How It’s Made
First, make your brine. Mix together the salt, sugar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Then, add your dill pickles juice, and include any seeds and spices kept in the juice as well.
Stir well until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved, then add your chicken breasts. Cover and chill in the fridge to brine the chicken for a few hours.
Take out the chicken and pat it dry. Salt and pepper it, then drizzle it in oil. Grill like you usually would, and you’re ready to serve it!
You’ll instantly taste the pickly goodness as soon as you take a bite. Plus, it makes it way juicier and super tender. What could be better than that?
