Apple-Bourbon Pie: Autumn Magic In Every Bite

There’s nothing like a warm slice of apple pie in the fall. Honestly, I don’t think anything could possibly be better than that. That is, unless you add a little something special to the pie.

That little something? Bourbon.

Now that is amazing. Bourbon is a great pairing with apples, so it isn’t surprising that this is so delicious!

I found this recipe from SouthernLiving.com and I couldn’t be happier. It’s really the perfect fall treat, and I can’t get enough of it!

Here’s what you’ll need to make it:

  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup bournon
  • 3 pounds cooking apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Put your raisins in your bourbon and soak for at least two hours.

As for baking this incredible pie, start off by preheating your oven to 450 degrees F.

Cut your apples into 1/2 inch thick slices, then steam them in a steamer basket over boiling water for ten minutes.
