Extra Blocks? No Problem!

We’ve all been there: we’ve built an amazing quilt top, only to realize that somehow we’ve ended up with a couple of extra blocks. All of that time, wasted!

Or not. If you’ve heard of the roadblock quilt, then you know those extra blocks have a place after all… and it couldn’t be any easier to make them one!

Easiest Quilt Ever

The trick to making this quilt is surrounding your rogue blocks with colorful strips that coordinate. Randomly place your extra blocks in, and it’s done in no time at all!

Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company stitches up this roadblock quilt and creates some matching blocks for it along the way. It couldn’t be more easy… I feel like she could do this blindfolded!

I guarantee it’ll be just as easy for you, too. If you wanna make this quilt yourself, here’s what you’ll need to get started:

How It’s Done

It really is as straightforward as it looks: just cut and sew up some strips, adding a block wherever you see fit. With a border or two, some batting, and a packing panel, this easy quilt is done in a flash.

Watch Jenny sew this up in the video below and get started on your own!

Good luck!
