Let’s Get Brewing

In recent years, brewing up your own beer and wine has become a trend. It’s crazy how many people I know that have their own brand in the works, whether to sell or just for themselves.

If I were to make one of the two, it would definitely be wine. I just love it, and making some would be a ton of fun. After a little bit of research, I figured out how to do it.

Believe it or not, it doesn’t take a ton of special equipment to create your own wine. All you need are a few ingredients and an instant pot.

Yup, an instant pot.

Wanna get to brewing your own? Here’s how to do it.

You will need:

  • an instant pot
  • a 64 oz. container of 100% grape juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 packet wine yeast

First, pour some of the juice out into a measuring cup, and pour your 1 cup of sugar into the grape juice bottle. Shake until fully dissolved. Add half a packet of wine yeast to this mixture.

Sanitize your instant pot with bleach and hot water, then rinse thoroughly. Pour the juice, sugar, and yeast mixture into the instant pot. Add the remaining juice from the measuring cup as well.

Seal the instant pot and turn the vent to “open.” From here, press the yogurt setting and make sure the temperature is at 80 degrees F. Set the timer for 48 hours.

Every 6-8 hours, turn the vent from open to close, and vice versa, alternating where the vent is. To learn more about the process and how to finish it, watch emmymadeinjapan‘s video below.
