Thanksgiving may be known as the holiday meal, but let’s be honest: Christmas is just as over-the-top, if not more. That’s why your table has to be set perfectly.

These placemats will keep your table clean and decorated, and they’re super easy to make. A lot of this pattern involves ironing and fusing rather than intense quilting.

An entire set of four placemats, four coasters, and two hot pads come out of one set on 2.5″ strips. Colleen from Fons & Porter also uses a placemat craft pack to make it easier.

The strips are already cut, so putting this all together couldn’t get more simple if you tried. Just lay out your strips and your background fabric, and go from there.

When it comes to your strips, you can obviously choose any color or pattern combination you’d like, but for a festive look, there are two color palettes that work best.

The classic reds, greens, and golds work, but if you’d like a cleaner look, go for silvers, blues, and whites. Both of these give off a wintery, holiday feel.

Whichever combo you decide to go with, there’s one thing we can all agree on: these placemats are a must-have on any holiday table and you’re gonna love how they turn out.
