Crazy quilting was a major fad during the Victorian era. Not only did it show off the incredible patchwork skills these ladies would come up with, but it would show their stitching skills as well.
These ladies usually spent hours planning each patch and stitch, figuring out what layout would be best for their final product.
Though the fad ended in about 1910, modern quilters often pay homage to crazy quilting by making their own spin on the classic technique.
One of those quilters is Laura Coia from Sew Very Easy. Her modern version of crazy quilting involves creating adorable little fan blocks.
These blocks are super easy to make, using triangles with rounded edges and a solid-colored rounded corner. Just like classic crazy quilting, Laura varies her stitches on this piece.
