Carving pumpkins is a fall tradition. Sometimes, they’re a little difficult to get right. They’re time-consuming, you can easily mess up, and it makes you think it might not even be worth the effort.
That is, unless you know these pumpkin carving hacks. Read on below to find out how to make it easier on yourself!
Cut A Bigger Hole Into The Pumpkin
If you cut a hole in the pumpkin that wraps from the top to the back, it makes for much easier scooping, and a really easy way to add your candle in!
Create A Stencil With A Thumbtack
If you place an image on top of your pumpkin and slowly add thumbtacks to trace the design, it’ll make for an easier carve later on!
Use A Dry/Wet Erase Marker To Perfect Your Design
If you’d rather take the draw-on method of design, use a dry or wet erase marker instead of a permanent marker. That way, if you mess up, you can still erase it and do it again!
Use LED Lights Or A Glow Stick Instead Of Candles
If you don’t want to use a candle, or are afraid of a fire hazard, LED lights and glow sticks are both fantastic alternatives.
Use A Drill Or Cookie Cutters To Ease Your Carving
Using a knife to carve a pumpkin takes forever and is just plain tiring. To make it easier on yourself, use a drill or a cookie cutter and mallet to get the shape you want. It’ll be done a lot faster!
