Halloween is on its way and you know what that means… time to get your costume!

If you’re on a budget, believe it or not, the dollar store is a great place to get your costume. Here are 5 ideas for you to get started on getting the perfect costume for you!

A Bag Of Jelly Beans

All you’ll need is a pack of basket bags and some balloons. Blow up the balloons and tie them off, shaping them into jelly beans as best you can. Form a casing around your body with the basket bags.

Once you tie off the basket bags and they’re secure, fill them with the balloons, cut out a jelly bean logo of your choice, and you’re ready to go!

A Chicken

For this one, you’ll need to buy some white feather boas, a red beanie, and some yellow rubber gloves. Use a white shirt, and if you can, some yellow leggings. Buy a beak to make it even more authentic!

Cover yourself in the feather boas, particularly around your waist and arms. Put on the beanie and beak, and use the gloves for feet. That’s it, you’re done!

“Smartie Pants”

If you don’t have glasses, buy a cheap pair at the dollar store along with some Smarties candies. Either glue or tape the Smarties to your pants, put on your glasses, and bam! Smartie pants.

Tooth Fairy

This one is a little more complicated: you’ll need a tutu (she makes hers out of multiple items, but the dollar store may have them as is,) a crown, and a wand.

Add some cutouts of teeth, add a little blush and lipstick, and you’re done!

Fruit Of Your Choice

Grab a colored t-shirt from the dollar store: red for strawberry or watermelon, yellow for pineapple, etc. Then, create the stem on your head with some green poster board.

Add some “seeds” with a black marker or paint to the shirt, and you’re done.
