I always love getting my space ready for the season– scented candles, cute decor pieces, and colorful wall hangings… but sometimes my wallet doesn’t like that so much.

Fall decorations can be super expensive… that is, unless you make them yourself.

If you want to decorate your house or bedroom specifically for fall but are in need of those decorations, here are 3 you can make yourself!

The best part? You probably already have everything you need, so it’s totally free!

Glitter or Acrylic Pumpkin

What you’ll need:

  • Toilet paper or paper towel rolls
  • Glue & glitter or acrylic paint
  • Spray glue or Hairspray (if you are doing the glitter pumpkin)
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Stick from outside for a stem
  • Hot glue

If you’re making a glitter pumpkin, cover the toilet paper roll in glue, then cover it in glitter. If you’re using paint, coat it in two coats. Let it dry. Cut it into chunks and do the same to the inside.

For the glitter pumpkin, seal it in place with spray glue or hairspray. Then, let that dry completely. String the pieces on to a piece of string until you form a circle. Tie it together and trim the excess.

Hot glue your stick to the center for your stem, and you’re done!

Wall Leaves

What you’ll need:

  • Crayons
  • Wax paper
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Paper towels
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Yarn & hot glue (if you plan on making a garland)
  • Stencil of a leaf

Lay down two layers of paper towels on a work surface. Place a piece of wax paper on top, and use your pencil sharpener to shave crayons on to it.

Take another piece of wax paper and place it on top, followed by another layer of paper towels. Iron until melted. Repeat the process as many times as you’d like for different colored leaves.

Trace your leaf stencil and cut it out. Repeat as many times as you’d like.

You can either tape these to the wall, or hot glue the leaf stems to yarn to create a hanging garland.

Stick Pumpkin

What you’ll need:

  • Cardboard
  • Sticks from outside
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue

Sketch out a pumpkin shape on a piece of cardboard. Cut it out. Find some sticks from outside, then wash and dry them.

Hot glue the sticks to the cardboard and trim the sticks to fit the cardboard. Once it’s dry, it’d done!
